I’m a fan of this pine sideboard for its warm, natural grain and solid joinery - it adds texture without overpowering a scheme. Its medium scale works just as well in a country cottage hallway or a Scandi-inspired living room, where it sits neatly beneath a mirror or gallery of black-framed prints.
To style it, keep the top uncluttered: a pair of low-profile lamps bookending a drip-glazed vase or a couple of ceramic bowls feels both curated and practical. Inside, use uniform baskets or linen bins to corral games, table linens or vinyls, so the exterior look stays calm. A trailing plant on one side softens the straight lines and brings the wood’s honey tones to life.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
