The double bed is expertly crafted from solid pine and hand waxed to protect, preserve as well as enhance the grain. I’m a big fan of this grey-wax bed frame for its neat panelling and muted finish, which give it just enough character without overwhelming a space. The distressed grey tone works brilliantly in both contemporary Scandi or relaxed country schemes, and its solid timber construction means it’ll age well over time. The head and footboard heights balance the proportions of a double mattress, so it never looks too low or overly imposing. To style, I’d layer crisp white linens with a chunky knit throw in a contrasting shade - think deep charcoal or soft clay - to bring out the frame’s subtle warmth.
