I’m a fan of these Corona chairs for their sturdy oak frame and warm antique-wax finish, which brings a welcoming yet unfussy feel to any dining space. Their simple ladder-back profile sits equally well in a farmhouse kitchen, a Scandi-inspired breakfast nook or even beside a more contemporary glass-topped table. For styling, I’d add slim linen seat pads in neutral tones for comfort, layer a natural-fibre rug underneath to define the area, and introduce a few black iron or aged brass accents elsewhere in the room to echo the visible bolts. They also work beautifully mixed with an upholstered head chair at either end for a more curated, collected look.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
