Description
With Coppélia, the brilliant designer Arihiro Miyake provides us with a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic chandelier. Inspired by the graceful movements of a ballerina, this chandelier traces sinuous, delicate movements in the air. This light fitting in its small version (Ø 68 x H 42 cm) consists of a three-dimensional stainless steel structure, consisting of three levels on which are inserted 36 tubular LEDs, looking like small candles. The intertwined steel wires form beautiful, repeating geometric patterns. This openwork balanced structure is incredibly aerial. The steel wires serve as a conductor (very low-voltage electric current). To enhance the impression of lights suspended in space, the electric cable is transparent. Inspired by both aesthetic and technical challenges, Japanese designer Arihiro Miyake has produced a model with a geometric and rigorously architected design. This remarkable piece will dress beautiful high ceilings with panache!.
