The essence of simplicity. Named Designer of the Year at the Maison&Objet Show 2020, Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades is a true purist. Composed of simple geometric shapes, his lights are imbued with a strong sculptural dimension. Witness his incredible Coordinates collection: a destructured assembly of horizontal and vertical light rods. These sculptural lamps resemble aerial, graceful, elegant mobiles. A minimal aesthetic that is no less spectacular. Reduced to their purest essence, these abstract luminous forms suspended in the air do not lack physical, sensual or enigmatic presence. Coordinates pendants decorate the space in a masterful way. They fascinate and attract the eye like a piece of jewellery adorns the skin and draws the gaze of whoever sees it. Each rod is composed of an aluminium structure tinted in "anodised champagne". The integrated LED light sources rest on flexible strips protected by opaline silicone diffusers. The Coordinates pendant light was originally created to fit out the historic Four Seasons restaurant in New York. Popular all around the world, Michael Anastassiades' lights appear in the most prestigious boutiques, hotels and restaurants, from the Grand Hotel in Stockholm to Soho House in New York. For Michael Anastassiades, it goes without saying that a “lamp that is only lit 20% of the time must be particularly beautiful when turned off, interacting by its presence alone with the environment’’. This is how he forged his style from simple signs and volumes (a sphere, a line, a triangle. ).
