Crafted with high-quality materials, this minimalist yet contemporary piece complements any interior style. Sink into its foam and fibre cushioning, while the buttonless tufting and velvet upholstery add a touch of elegance. For the perfect balance of comfort and sophistication, the seat is expertly designed with luxurious foam padding enveloped in a velvety, cushioning wadding wrap.

Our Stylist Says

The orange fabric sofa is a bold statement piece that works particularly well in contemporary or eclectic interiors, where its vibrant hue can really stand out. I love pairing it with neutral walls and layered textures like soft throws and patterned cushions to make the colour pop without overwhelming the space. It’s versatile enough to anchor a minimalist living room or inject personality into a more playful scheme. For practicality, choose durable fabrics and consider slipcovers or upholstery treatments if you have pets or kids. Styling tip: keep accessories and surrounding furnishings relatively simple to let the sofa be the focal point, but add a few contrasting colours or metallic accents nearby for a well-balanced look.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
