Description

Designed by the legendary Jean Prouvé in 1953, the Compas Direction Desk from Vitra takes its shape from the hinged arms of a drawing compass. The desk is a pairing of sleek metal legs with a capacious solid oak tabletop. The nearly 70-year-old design is a testament to Prouvé's timelessness, working as elegantly in a contemporary office as it did in a mid-century one. Jean Prouvé was one of the twentieth century's most influential designers, manufacturers, and educators. Playing a pivotal role in the development of mass-production techniques in post-war modernist Europe, his wide-ranging portfolio spans from prefabricated housing solutions to furniture for the office, classroom and home.

Our Stylist Says

I love this desk for its contemporary yet versatile design, perfectly balancing functionality with style. The combination of oak and deep black makes it an adaptable piece that works well in both modern and industrial interiors, as well as more minimalist spaces. It's a great option for those looking to add a touch of sophistication without overpowering the room. For styling, consider pairing with sleek lighting and simple organiser accessories to keep the workspace organised and visually clean. It’s equally suited for a home office or a stylish corner in a living space, providing a timeless look with practical appeal.
