I’m a fan of this black matt double bed for its clean lines and sturdy feel - it’s a versatile base that works equally well in minimalist, Scandi or industrial-style schemes. The low-profile design keeps the room feeling open, while the deep black finish provides a strong anchor for softer linens and accent colours.
To style, layer crisp white sheets with a textured throw in charcoal or a bold accent hue. Add a pair of slim wall-mounted reading lights on either side instead of bulky bedside tables, or slide woven baskets underneath for neat storage. A simple slim shelf above the headboard offers just enough room for a favourite photo or a couple of well-chosen vases without cluttering the look.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
