Our Stylist Says

I love this ribbed glass vase for its warm amber tones and tactile texture, which add instant visual interest to any space. It works particularly well in cosy, eclectic, or mid-century interiors where the rich hue complements wood accents and neutral palettes. For styling, I’d suggest placing it on a mantle or side table with a simple bouquet of dried flowers or wild grasses to enhance its organic feel. Alternatively, it makes a striking solo piece when filled with a few statement stems or even used as a decorative object on its own. Its ribbed design also lends itself to both modern and vintage-inspired schemes, making it a versatile addition to various interior styles.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
