The Cobbler lamp was designed by Olle Lundberg for Ateljé Lyktan, inspired by the thousands of sketches and drawings that were stacked away in Ateljé Lyktans archives. In the early 20th century, designers started to try and dress the, until then much-used, naked lightbulb - also known as cobbler's lamps. First shades were made of sheet metal, probably inspired by the kerosene lamp. From these early models, designed by Hans Bergström, Olle Lundberg found his inspiration for the Cobbler lamp - a modern take on historic shade designs. With its broad and conical shaped shade, the Cobbler lamp spreads a broad, dispersed light.
I really like this pendant-it’s a sleek, modern piece with a touch of elegance thanks to the champagne brass finish. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, but can also add a luxe feel to Scandi or industrial spaces. Practical styling tips include hanging it over a dining table or in a kitchen island area, where its warm brass tone can complement natural wood or neutral palettes. It pairs well with other brass accents or matte black finishes for a cohesive look. Keep the surrounding decor simple to let the lamp stand out, and consider using a warm LED bulb to enhance its inviting glow.
