I’m a big fan of the Coast table for small spaces - its drop-leaf design means you can keep it compact for daily use then extend it when guests arrive. The simple black finish and clean lines suit contemporary, Scandi-inspired or even industrial interiors, and the round shape softens corners in a tight kitchen or dining nook.
To style it, pair with slimline dining chairs in a contrasting tone or mix woods for a more relaxed feel. Keep centrepiece clutter to a minimum - a low vase of foliage or a stack of linen napkins will add texture without overpowering its pared-back look.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
