Our Stylist Says

I love this Christmas Patchwork Throw for its festive yet versatile appeal. Its vibrant red combined with classic patchwork and snowflake motifs makes it perfect for adding a seasonal touch to a neutral or traditional interior. It's especially well-suited for layered looks on sofas or beds, where you want a cosy, inviting vibe. Practical styling tips include draping it over a sofa for instant Christmas cheer or folding it neatly at the foot of the bed for added texture. In more modern schemes, pair it with simple white or grey linens to make the pattern pop without overwhelming the space. Its bold pattern and colour make it a great seasonal accent that can easily be incorporated into both contemporary and rustic settings.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
