Description
Following the success of the Binic lamp, designer Ionna Vautrin presents us with Chouchin: a modern reinterpretation of the traditional paper and bamboo lantern, a symbol of Japanese culture. The designer has managed to re-transcribe all of the poetry and magic of traditional lanterns into a rather unexpected material: blown glass. The lines are pure and fluid, and the contours are soft… The charisma of the Chouchin (which means "lantern" in Japanese) lamp is expressed through a mix of simplicity, modernity and authenticity. Chouchin combines impressive artisan expertise with modern aesthetic requirements. The glass craftsman deposits a drop of glass in a mould which models the shape of the lampshade. The shine of the glass enhances the sleek, zen lines of the pendant light and gives the piece its sumptuous sophistication. Inspired by Japanese lanterns, Chouchin gives off a warming light. The lampshade ends with an illuminated collar, projecting an intense beam of light that's directed downwards. This pendant light is ideal over a dinner table, a worktop, a bar or a counter, etc. The Chouchin collection features various models. The different shapes and colours accentuate the personality of each model whilst also allowing for stunning graphic compositions to be created. Presented individually or grouped as a composition, the Chouchin pendant light is a high-value decorative piece.
