A hand-woven traditional style kilim rug crafted in natural colours using vegetable dyes to emulate the original and authentic process of kilim weaving techniques. The pattern motifs are created to represent traditional desires, such as happiness and children, or protection against threats (such as wolves to the flocks), or against the evil eye, and these motifs are often combined and woven into the patterns on kilim rugs. Made from 100% natural jute with fringing. Please note that, as with any runner or rug, if you wish to place it on a hard floor you will need an anti-slip mat beneath, it will not only prevent slippage but preserve the life of the runner too. No chemicals are used in the production of this rug, and the natural vegetables dyes aren't sealed with chemicals, meaning the colour can occasionally transfer onto paler floors.
This kilim rug, with its warm chocolate and vibrant blue hues, offers a great way to introduce colour and texture into a variety of interiors. I love how it pairs well with both neutral palettes and more eclectic spaces, adding a layered, globally inspired touch. It works particularly well under a coffee table or in a hallway, where its compact size can be shown off. Practical styling tips include layering it with larger, plain rugs for added depth, or pairing it with natural materials like wood and rattan to amplify its earthy charm. Its hard-wearing texture also makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, combining style with practicality.
