I’m a fan of this silver-blue velvet armchair for its rich yet muted hue and generous cushioning - it feels both elegant and inviting. The smooth curves and low profile suit modern Scandi schemes as much as they complement mid-century or minimalist living rooms, adding just the right splash of colour without overwhelming a neutral palette. For styling, balance the velvet texture with a soft, woven throw and a couple of linen or boucle cushions in creams or muted greys. Position it beside a slim brass or black metal side table and layer a natural-fibre rug underneath to anchor the look. A nearby potted plant or sculptural floor lamp will complete a relaxed, contemporary corner.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.

A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
