Our Stylist Says
I love the bright Saffron yellow on this Chester fabric 2-seater sofa, as it instantly injects energy and a cheerful vibe into a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in neutral or minimalist spaces where it can be a statement piece, or in eclectic and modern rooms that embrace bold colours. For practical styling, consider pairing with textured cushions or throws in complementary shades like navy, grey, or even deep green to tone it down or add contrast. Placing it against darker or patterned wallpaper can help the colour pop even more, while keeping surrounding decor simple ensures the sofa remains the star of the room. This piece is versatile enough to sit comfortably in living rooms, casual lounges, or brightening up a cosy garden room.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
