Description

With its natural tone and cosy Sherpa backing, this checkerboard throw offers the perfect balance of style and comfort. The neutral design fits into a variety of interiors, making it a versatile addition to any home. Ideal for all seasons, it’s perfect for lounging or as an extra layer on your bed.

Our Stylist Says

I love the checkerboard throw for its cosy, inviting texture and neutral tone, which makes it highly versatile for various interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary, minimalist, or Scandinavian-style bedrooms where its subtle pattern can add depth without overpowering the decor. Practical styling tips include draping it casually over the bed’s end or wrapping it around for extra warmth during colder months - it combines both style and function effortlessly. Its Sherpa backing ensures comfort and durability, making it a great choice for creating a cosy focal point that elevates the overall aesthetic of the space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
