Description

With the famous shape and features of a Chesterfield, the 3 Seater Charlton Sofa offers a soft and comfortable seat thanks to its soft loose seat cushions which are made using eco blue hollowfibre. The cushions rest upon a seat suspension of no sag springs, and a traditionally constructed frame from sustainable sourced hardwood timbers, for comfort and quality that is made to be long lasting. The Charlton 3 Seater Sofa is the perfect addition to your living space, enabling you to combine a classic style with the ultimate upholstered comfort; your mind will wander to sinking into this sofa at the end of a long day.

Our Stylist Says

The Charlton 3 Seater in fabric offers a versatile and classic seating option that works well in both traditional and contemporary interiors. I love its timeless roll arm design and tufted back, which add understated elegance without feeling fussy. It’s ideal for creating cosy, inviting living rooms, especially paired with chunky throws and patterned cushions to soften its structured silhouette. Practical styling tips include balancing its solid colour with contrasting textures like a patterned rug or metallic accessories, and using lighter or neutral-toned surrounding decor to prevent it from feeling too heavy in smaller spaces. Its durable fabric makes it a great choice for everyday wear, making it both stylish and practical.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
