Description

Our Chara bottles are full of sophisticated rustic charm; these artisan made pieces involve hammering the glass with traditional tools providing a subtle textured affect. The glass is skilfully blown through the brass ring creating this elegant shape. Solder marks are often evident on the brass as a result of this complex handmade process.

Our Stylist Says

I love the hammered finish of this bottle, as it adds texture and a subtle vintage feel that works beautifully in both modern and traditional interiors. It’s particularly versatile and looks great in neutral or earthy colour schemes, adding a layer of visual interest without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider using it as a standalone piece on a shelf or mantel, or pair it with other natural materials like wood and linen for a cohesive look. It’s perfect for displaying small plants, cut flowers, or even as a minimalist vase for single-stem botanical displays, making it an easy way to add interest and a touch of craftsmanship to everyday interiors.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
