Description

A cool architectural tone, Farringdon Grey is drawn from a colour listed under the Willow design from the original 1905 logbook. William Morris was a leading figure of the Socialist League, which had its office in a loft in Farringdon Street, giving its name to this hue. Chalky Matt's wipeable finish offers an immersive depth and irresistible quality to any interior, leaving an enduringly harmonious look. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material including dirt and grease. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Rub down previously glossed painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Stir well before use and

Our Stylist Says

I love the Farringdon Grey sample for its subtle, sophisticated tone that provides a calm and versatile background. This paint shade works particularly well in contemporary and pared-back interiors, but can also soften more traditional spaces. Its muted hue pairs beautifully with natural textures like timber, linen, or woven accessories, making it ideal for creating a cosy yet modern look. Practical styling tips include layering with different tones of grey or adding warm metallic accents to prevent the space from feeling too cool. It’s also a low-maintenance choice that complements both minimalist and eclectic aesthetic styles, making it a reliable backdrop for various decor updates.
