One of the earliest models by Danish designer Hans J. Wegner, the CH25 Low Armchair in a white oiled oak finish was first designed in 1950 and is now considered a classic example of mid-century modern design. The armchair is crafted from white oiled oak and finished with a hand-woven seat using a distinctive pattern that requires more than 400 metres of paper cord. It takes a trained craftsman 8-10 hours to complete a single chair. With such delicacy, care and attention to detail going into each individual model, the CH25 is a tribute to traditional craftsmanship, and its light, natural appearance means it handsomely complements a variety of interior styles. An ideal chair to sit and while away the time, on a lazy afternoon, its low reclining back makes this the ultimate choice for relaxation. Home life - Carl Hansen & Søn from Monocle on Vimeo.
