A Belgian designer trained in graphic arts, she has been working with Serax for over twenty-five years and favors an intuitive approach to design, rooted in freehand drawing and experimentation with materials. Here, the material plays a key role in defining the lamp’s character. The enamelled sandstone base has an almost artisanal quality, while the very full lampshade seems to float above it. The overall design plays on the contrast between vertical lines and soft curves. Whether on or off, the Cézanne retains a strong decorative presence.
