Pauline Deltour explains: "My trip to Colombia was incredibly inspiring. In the south of the country, we saw dozens of houses painted blue, green, pink, red and other bright colours. This inspired me to use bright colours and mix them. I was also inspired by David Hockney's paintings; looking at them gives me fresh, joyful inspiration. " The Cesta mirror carries the magical DNA of Colombia: it’s both exuberant, rich in humanity, modern and full of vitality. A treat for the eyes and an invitation to travel. The Cesta mirror was born as a result of designer Pauline Deltour's trip to Colombia. Concerned with bringing originality and authenticity to her creations, she met local craftspeople who have managed to preserve and pass on real expertise and traditional production methods over the centuries. Pauline Deltour visited the region of Nariño and the city of Bogotá. There, she met many artisans who have settled in the heart of the cities in the last twenty years, having left the countryside to flee war and violence. In order to support their families, they keep local knowledge alive and preserve techniques that would otherwise have been forgotten.
