Monica Förster (born 1966) is one of Sweden's internationally renowned and award-winning designers. Her childhood in the small village of Dorotea in northern Sweden was marked by a great interest in meals and table settings, as her father was one of Sweden's leading chefs. Monica Förster's design is characterized by well-thought-out simplicity without unnecessary details, and her work is driven by a strong curiosity about new materials and manufacturing processes. I love the ceramic vase Dorotea for its clean, minimal silhouette and muted colour that effortlessly complements a variety of interiors. Its compact size makes it versatile - perfect as a standalone piece on a side table, or grouped with other vases for an interesting display. It works particularly well in contemporary or Scandinavian-inspired spaces where its simple form can shine, but it also adds a nice touch to more eclectic settings. For styling tips, try filling it with fresh or dried blooms to add colour and texture, or keep it empty for a subtle decorative accent on a shelf or mantelpiece. Its understated design makes it an adaptable addition to many different schemes.
