Eileen Gray (1878-1976) is one of the most striking characters of the history of the decorative arts and architecture from the 20th century. Her works, which have now become Art Deco and design classics, reach record prices in auctions. Castellar is a re-issue of the mirror designed by Eileen Gray in 1927. In 1924, in collaboration with the Romanian architect, Jean Badovici, Eileen Gray started to work on the E-1027 house. Responsible for its furnishings, she created this very ingenious mirror. Luxury gives way to simplicity and a practical shape. With its geometric forms, Castellar is a mirror made up of a pivoting section letting the user see their profile easily. Its chromed metal frame surrounds a wonderful polished glass mirror with bevelled edges. A perfect combination of aesthetics and efficiency.
I really like the Castellar Mirror for its sleek, functional design, which makes it a versatile piece in various interiors. Its pivoting section adds a dynamic element, perfect for practical use in bathrooms, dressing areas, or even modern kitchens. The silver/metal finish lends a clean, contemporary feel that complements minimalist, industrial, or even eclectic schemes. For styling tips, consider placing it where natural light can bounce off the reflective surface or pairing it with simple, streamlined furniture to enhance its modern appeal. Its adjustable section is also handy for close-up grooming or makeup, making it both stylish and practical in everyday spaces.
