Price History

Description

The Caspian Avant Garde coffee table features a beautiful driftwood base and complimentary glass top. Mother Nature has exerted her most powerful forces- sun, air and water on this wood to provide it with a highly resilient nature perfect for a high traffic furniture piece such as this. Its artistic yet unorthodox finish is sure to capture the attention of your guests and become a featured talking point for the years to come, this coffee table not only exudes style but is an ideal practical piece, available in various sizes.

Our Stylist Says

I love this coffee table for its striking mix of natural textures and contemporary design. The driftwood detail adds warmth and a touch of organic charm, while the glass top keeps it feeling modern and sleek. It works exceptionally well in eclectic or coastal-inspired interiors, but can also bring a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe to minimalist spaces. Practical styling tips include keeping accessories minimal to highlight its unique elements, or layering with textured rugs and soft textiles nearby to create a cosy, inviting setting. Its solid construction also means it’s functional for everyday use, making it both stylish and practical.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
