I’m a big fan of this Carver table for its solid, sculptural feel and warm timber finish - it’s equally at home in a pared-back Scandi lounge or a cosy, boho-inspired corner. The modest 35 × 45 cm footprint makes it a handy side or coffee table in smaller living rooms, while its clean lines suit minimalist, Japandi or mid-century schemes. For styling, try layering a low vase of fresh foliage with a couple of coffee-table books and a small ceramic dish for keys or trinkets. If you need extra surface space, pair two at different heights, then group a table lamp and scented candle on the taller one for subtle zoning.

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Sustainability at the Forefront
From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.
Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.
Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.
