I’m a fan of the Carvelle extension table for its crisp marble-effect top and slim black legs - it feels both light and substantial. The simple mechanism means you can easily expand from a cosy four-seater to six or eight when you have guests, so it’s ideal for everyday use and entertaining.
Styling-wise it sits well in modern, Scandi or pared-back industrial schemes. Keep the look clean with mixed-material chairs (think leather or upholstered seats) and a sculptural pendant above. A metal or ceramic centrepiece bowl and a few sprigs of greenery will add warmth without cluttering the monochrome palette.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
