Description
A hybrid aesthetic, both raw and refined, for this collection of cylindrical vases. These Carved vases are handcrafted by Indian craftsmen: each piece is unique and offers a meticulous piece of glasswork. These cylindrical vases consist of two superimposed layers of hand-blown glass. The craftsmen then carve the glass, cutting circular patterns into its thickness. This process gives rise to an extraordinary interplay of thickness and transparency: the material, more or less fine, is opaque and solid or translucent and ethereal. The glass is carved so that it retains the etched markings within its mass. A radical style, direct and full of poetry.
