Once seen, never forgotten – that's how we feel about this stunning hand-carved wooden cupboard. It’s a truly gorgeous piece, featuring beautifully ornate detailing that depicts two peacocks with elegantly long tail feathers intertwined with delicate flowers and tendrils. And just look at that whitewashed finish! It gives this a charmingly distressed appeal that fits a traditional or rustic interior decor scheme perfectly, and puts us in mind of sprawling Tuscan villas. Black wrought iron handles add to the vintage-style look of this, while there are catches at the top and bottom of the doors to ensure they stay securely closed. On opening them up, three sturdy shelves offer plenty of room for storage – we like to use for throws, pillows and extra duvets, but there’s plenty of scope for kitchen and serveware, or even an extensive collection of board games if a game of Scrabble is your thing! The interior of this piece is left au naturel, with the bare wood making for a pleasing contrast with the chalky white of the exterior. It's a detail we love, and makes it feel all the more authentic. Back in 2007, on a not-so-sunny Lanzarote vacation, Lucy and Jane had a bright idea by the pool. Both loved old markets and changing up their homes, so they thought, "Why not create an online store for unique home items?"
