Description

Pendant bar lights are perfect for giving a practical style of illumination to your home, working particularly well over a kitchen island or breakfast bar where the elongated structure gives light that’s ideally tailored to the setting! The Carter 3 light pendant bar utilises robust bronze bulb holders and sophisticated glass shades to create a look that’s perfect for an industrial décor, combining these features with black cables and a black ceiling fixture to give a simple modern spin to the designs.

Our Stylist Says

I love this pendant bar for its versatile industrial charm and warm bronze finish, making it a great focal point in both contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors. It works particularly well over kitchen islands, breakfast bars, or in open-plan living spaces where you want to create an inviting, functional light source. To style it effectively, consider pairings with other warm metallic accents or raw textures like reclaimed wood or brick to enhance its industrial vibe. Practical tip: adjusting the hanging lengths allows customisation to suit your space, ensuring the lighting complements rather than overwhelms your room’s proportions.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
