Description

A simple pendant that packs an industrial punch, the Carter ceiling pendant light is a fantastic way to light up your home. This ceiling light features a metallic bronze finish with a sleek smoke glass shade that diffuses a warm glow into your surroundings. Create an incredibly modern appearance in any kitchen when you hang this light above a breakfast bar or dining table. Pair this pendant light with one of our gorgeous, vintage filament light bulbs for a beautiful decorative appearance.

Our Stylist Says

I love this pendant for adding a touch of industrial sophistication, particularly thanks to its metallic bronze finish. It works exceptionally well in modern, minimalist, or even vintage-inspired interiors, where the warm tone can complement exposed brick or timber details. Practical styling tips include hanging it over a kitchen island or dining table to create a focal point, and pairing it with other bronze or matte black accents for a cohesive look. Its size and shape make it versatile enough to suit both small and larger spaces, while its reflective surface adds a subtle glamour without overwhelming the decor.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
