Description

Calder Semi Flush Ceiling Light, Satin Black

Our Stylist Says

The Calder semi-flush looks sleek and modern, making it a versatile choice for a range of interiors. I love how its Satin Black finish adds a contemporary edge while remaining understated enough to complement both minimalist and more eclectic schemes. It works particularly well in spaces with clean lines, like modern kitchens, living areas, or even bedrooms where you want a unobtrusive, yet stylish focal point. For styling tips, consider pairing it with matte or textured finishes in your decor to help it stand out, and position it in rooms with higher ceilings to avoid it feeling cramped. Its simple yet distinctive shape also makes it easy to coordinate with pendant lights or table lamps for layered lighting schemes.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
