Description

Calder Balance Floor Lamp, Satin Black

Our Stylist Says

I love this floor lamp for its minimalist yet sculptural appeal. The Calder Balance works well in modern and contemporary interiors, especially those with a monochrome palette or statement furniture. Its satin black finish makes it versatile enough to suit both warmer brass accents and cooler industrial schemes. For styling, try placing it beside a neutral sofa or bed to add a touch of sculptural interest without overwhelming the space. It also works well as a reading lamp in a lounge or study, thanks to its multiple spheres that can be positioned to direct light where needed. Keep the surrounding decor simple to allow the lamp’s architectural form to stand out, and consider pairing it with other geometric accessories for a cohesive look.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
