For the Caernarfon cushions, Majeda Clarke uses surplus fabric from the weaving production. Each cushion comes with a feather pad and a cotton fabric back which compliments each colour way. The Caernarfon design was developed centuries ago by weaving masters in Wales, through their understanding of the intricacies of the loom they created an effective double cloth pattern. Majeda Clarke fell in love with the tradition and by effectively recolouring the design with modern pops of colour she hopes to keep the tradition alive. The Caernarfon Collection is woven on traditional powered looms, at a small mill nestled in a quiet valley in Wales. The Caernarfon Coral design is woven with 100% lambswool which is ethically sourced from an environmentally conscious British spinner.
I really like the Caernarfon Mint Choc Square Cushion for its subtle vintage-inspired pattern and calming colour palette. It works especially well in contemporary or Scandinavian interiors, adding a touch of texture without overpowering the space. It’s versatile enough to pair with neutral tones or even darker, richer hues for contrast. Practical styling tips include using it on a sofa or bed to introduce a soft, tactile element, or mixing it with other cushions in complementary colours for a layered, inviting look. Its understated design makes it a great choice for both relaxed and more polished interiors, making it a worthwhile addition to many schemes.
