Caen Spun Table Lamp with Black Shade, Copper

Our Stylist Says

I love this lamp for its sleek, contemporary design and the rich contrast between the black shade and the warm copper base. It works particularly well in modern, minimalist interiors or eclectic spaces where you want a statement piece with a touch of elegance. Practical styling tips include placing it on a side table in a living room or as a bedside lamp for added functionality. Pair it with neutral or monochrome colour schemes to highlight its metallic finish, or incorporate it into a metallic or dark-toned colour palette for a cohesive look. Its bold shape and colour make it an instant focal point, so keep surrounding decor simple to let it really stand out.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
