To create the Brut collection, the famous German designer Konstantin Grcic used one of the oldest ferrous metal forming techniques: cast iron. Cast iron has an almost archaic material presence, taking us back to the heart of the industrial revolution. Used in Victorian garden furniture or for bridge construction since the early 18th century, it’s both heavy and sturdy. This rectangular table is an expressive piece that offers a superb mix of materials. The varnished cast iron base features geometric, simple, graphic lines. The modernity of this base contrasts beautifully with the refined, classic style of the tempered glass top and the solid oak joining elements. This table will fit equally well into very modern and more traditional interiors. An exceptional piece!.
This dining table is a fantastic choice for modern, minimalist interiors thanks to its sleek glass top and cast iron frame, which add a contemporary edge while maintaining a sense of openness. I love how the transparent glass makes the space feel larger and more airy, making it ideal for smaller rooms or open-plan layouts. To style around it, consider pairing with statement chairs in bold or textured fabrics to add warmth and comfort, or keep the look pared-back with neutral upholstery for a clean, sophisticated vibe. Practical tips include using a centred runner or placemats to protect the glass surface, and placing a decorative centrepiece that isn’t too heavy or overbearing, ensuring the table remains a focal point without overwhelming the space.
