A timeless shape reinterpreted with vibrant colours and a unique lacquered finish... Designer-explorer Pierre Charrié adds a contemporary interpretation to materials and artisanal manufacturing processes. He works with weavers and drum makers, and is interested in Washi paper and Kumihimo silk to create today's artefacts. The Brush pendant collection was born in a workshop in Vietnam with the Hanoia company, where Pierre Charrié explored lacquer objects. An artistic craft that requires working with colour as an essential element of the object, in relation to a space. A level of sophistication that allows colour to take shape in three dimensions from the top to the bottom of the lamp. The lacquered colours obtained through a unique process are incredibly incandescent and vibrant. Multi-stage firing is required to achieve the metallic depth of Brush colours. The paint of the iridescent version is based on crushed mother-of-pearl, which gives it its iridescence, and a different perception of colour depending on the light. The quality of the high-end paint work gives a unique intensity to the colours. The dome shape of the lampshade is the result of artisanal aluminium turning techniques which allow absolute mastery of the oblong curve, part geometry, part organic reference. Inside the dome is a large round aluminium pellet. The light diffuses subtly thanks to the interior pellet. Both indirect and soft, the light is reflected in the dome for diffused lighting. The Brush pendant comes in two formats: a large, bold size and a more compact, discreet version, matching easily with any type of interior.
The Brush Grande Pendant is a striking piece that adds a contemporary edge to any space. Its clean, black metal finish makes it highly versatile, working well in minimalist or industrial interiors, but it can also serve as a bold statement in more eclectic or modern schemes. I’d recommend using it over dining tables, kitchen islands, or in open-plan living areas, where its sizeable 60cm diameter can truly make an impact. For styling tips, consider pairing it with warm wood tones or matte textures to soften its sleekness, and add dimmable bulbs to control the mood. Its simple yet impactful design makes it a reliable focal point while maintaining an effortlessly stylish vibe.
