Description

Hair-on-hide is a sumptuous finish in its own right, but to add another layer of texture, this one is hand-embroidered in India with an abstract stag’s head design. The hide is thick, so the technique takes time and immense skill: several layers of cotton stitches are applied to form a relief pattern, using graduated colours for a shaded effect. This cushion is embroidered on the front only, with a plain hair-on-hide back.
