I’m a big fan of the Brooklyn unit for its blend of warm dark oak and slim metal base, which makes it equally at home in industrial, Scandi-inspired or contemporary living rooms. The central shelves and discreet cable port keep media kit neatly organised, while the side cupboards offer hidden storage for games or remotes. To style it, try a cluster of low-profile vases or books on one side of the top, balanced by a small plant or framed print on the other. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
