Description

Eclectic lighting design for your home décor with the Brookby Flush Ceiling Light. This stylish ceiling fitting features a flush light design which is ideal for styling in rooms with low ceilings, or in hallways and landings. It also comes in a stunning satin brass finish and features a palm leaf design that is perfect for tropical themed homes, or homes with lots of houseplants, emitting a warm toned illumination across the room.

Our Stylist Says

I love how the Brookby flush sits perfectly at the intersection of elegance and modernity. The satin brass finish adds warmth and sophistication, making it versatile for both contemporary and transitional interiors. It works particularly well in living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallways where a statement piece is desired without overwhelming the space. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral or textured wall colours to highlight the metallic finish, and keep the ceiling area clutter-free to let this fixture truly shine. It’s especially effective when hung centrally or above a feature piece of furniture, adding a subtle luxe touch while providing practical overhead lighting.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
