Art Deco buildings in my opinion look spectacular at night. The lights accentuating the angles, lines and the intricate details. I could pass this building during the day and probably miss it, but at night- it's magical. Couldn't resist a tiny tribute to Bromley boy Bowie in this iconic Bromley landmark. The original building dates from 1936, representing the art deco style of famed architect George Coles. The narrow frontage on the main High Street consisted of a deeply curved recess which was flanked by rounded wings and an outwardly curving canopy that had the 'Odeon' name sign mounted on top of it. Fully refurbished to the plans of architectural firm Earle Architects, the Picturehouse Bromley re-opened in 2019. Sold unframed.
I love this Bromley pictureprint of London for its modern, stylised take on the city’s iconic architecture. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, adding a pop of colour and visual interest without overwhelming the space. It’s versatile enough to suit living rooms, home offices or even bedrooms, especially in schemes that feature muted tones or bold accents. Practical styling tips include pairing it with sleek, understated frames or grouping with other urban or travel-themed art for a curated look. Its size makes it ideal for creating a focal point above a sofa or console table, providing a fresh urban vibe to your decor.
