I’m a fan of the Braidwood shelves for their clean lines and light, white-pigmented oak finish - they bring a sense of airiness to both compact and open-plan spaces. They sit naturally in Scandinavian, coastal or modern-rustic schemes, yet their simplicity also complements contemporary urban lofts when paired with metal or black-frame accents.
For styling, mix books with decorative objects such as small potted plants, woven baskets or ceramic vases to break up the linearity. Vary heights by stacking some volumes horizontally and leaving some shelves partially empty to avoid a cluttered feel. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
