Description

Calling all dog lovers; meet Boris Bulldog, the charismatic table lamp that will become a staple within your home. Boris has a mid-grey flocked body which is complemented by a brushed silver PVC lined lampshade, making this lamp a versatile lighting choice that will elevate any colour scheme. This table lamp would look at home positioned on a sideboard in your living room or beside a big comfy armchair, the perfect reading companion light.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little bulldog lamp for its playful yet stylish character. Its soft velvet shade in grey makes it versatile enough to work in both contemporary and quirky interiors, such as a children's room, a cosy lounge, or a fun corner in a modern office. The whimsical bulldog base adds personality without overwhelming a space, making it a great statement piece. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral-coloured or minimal furniture to let it stand out, or with other grey and textured accessories for a more layered look. It’s practical too: perfect as a bedside or side table lamp, providing a warm, inviting glow.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
