Boris Bulldog Flock Table Lamp with Velvet Shade, Grey

Our Stylist Says

I love the Boris Bulldog table lamp for its playful yet stylish design, making it a versatile piece for a variety of interiors. Its grey velvet shade adds a touch of softness and sophistication, perfect for adding warmth to living rooms, study nooks, or even children's bedrooms with a contemporary twist. The bulldog base injects a fun, quirky element that works especially well in eclectic, modern, or casual schemes. For practical styling, try pairing it with neutral tones and simple textures, letting the lamp be a statement piece, or placing it alongside other grey or metallic accents for a cohesive look. It’s great as an accent on side tables, desks, or consoles to bring personality and a bit of charming character to your space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
