Description
Fun and ultra-graphic, the Bold stool won’t go unnoticed! It consists of two identical tubular parts nested one inside the other. Padded with a thick polyurethane foam, the line drawn by the Bold plays successively the part of foot then seat. In a single line, just like Osvaldo Cavandoli's Linea, and thickened like a character font that’s been fattened up. A style both full of fantasy yet refined. All things superfluous have been eliminated to keep only what is essential. Bold is part of the ''Plus is more'' collection from the Belgian-Swiss Big Game collective. A collection that hijacks with humour the minimalist motto ''less is more'', so dear to architect Mies Van der Rohe. The purpose of this collection is to transform basic elements to bring a "plus" while preserving the integrity of the original element. For the Bold stool, the Big Game studio takes its inspiration from the tradition of the steel-tube chair. The tubular metal structure usually used for the base of a chair is thickened out using a foam padding effect. Thus transformed, the ''inflated'' steel tube manages to save a seat!
