Description

Bohemian Tiles" illustrations is inspired by free-spirit living, plants and boho decor. Alja Horvat is an illustrator who grew up in the wonderful city of Maribor in Slovenia. Art has been something Horvat has been passionate about for her whole life, but it wasn't until 2016 that she decided to pursue an art career on a serious level. A versatile artist, she mainly works with her graphic tablet but also creates pieces which requires her hands using gouache and acrylics - gouache is her preferred paint as it gives her illustrations a precise, clean look. Everything is a source of inspiration for Horvat; nature, music that's been playing on the radio since the 60s, nearby cafe shops, things that she comes across in museums, 70s and 80s fashion as well as things that catch her eyes while she's having long talks at her friend's house. She's currently based in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, where she is taking a degree at the University of Natural Sciences and Engineering. About Artfully Walls A well-designed gallery wall is a masterpiece in itself. Artfully Walls is an art and curating service that carefully selects work from artists around the world and then matches the pieces to the size, colour scheme or inspiration of a space. Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this boho tile print because it brings pattern and a laid-back vibe without overwhelming a room. It works especially well in living areas dressed in natural textures (think rattan, linen and terracotta) or as a focal point in a pared-back hallway. For styling, hang it above a slim console and pair with a simple brass lamp, or create a mini gallery by mixing it with smaller monochrome pieces. Its mix of muted pinks and greens also makes it easy to switch in and out seasonally without clashing.
