Description
Created by the Bouroullec brothers, this collection of rugs is characterised by a unique pattern coming from a unique process! The finesse of the pattern (and its "blurred" effect when you look at it from a certain distance) is obtained by reversing the directions in which the Kilim rugs are traditionally woven. A more laborious technique than the traditional one but the result is in keeping with it: the optical effect is striking! Afghan wool is known for the quality, softness and length of its fibres. To produce each rug it has been spun by hand by Pakistani craftspeople. This makes each rug a unique piece, surprisingly soft to the touch and with colours which change significantly depending on the gradient of the fibres. Made completely by hand, this Blur rug (170 x 240 cm) is an exceptional piece, combining sophistication and technical complexity. The geometric and repetitive thread is emblematic of the Bouroullec style.
