Designed in their own studio in Stockholm, Nordic Knots’ handwoven rugs are high quality and timeless. They’ve got a minimal aesthetic, in muted tones and geometric patterns – just like the rugs found at the centre of Scandinavian homes. The Båstad Rug is named after a beloved summer town in the south of Sweden, inspired by early 20th century textile art from the same region. The square pattern gives it a modern look, that's skilfully handwoven in 100% New Zealand wool. It's why it's got such a soft feel – plus, because it's woven straight through you can use both sides.
I love the blue Båstad rug for its versatile pattern and calming colour palette, making it an ideal choice for both contemporary and traditional interiors. Its geometric design adds visual interest without overwhelming the space, making it well-suited for living rooms, bedrooms, or even stylish home offices. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral furniture and layered textiles for a cosy feel, or add pops of colour with cushions and throws to bring the pattern to life. Because of its pattern, it's best to keep surrounding decor relatively simple, allowing the rug to be the focal point and anchoring the space effortlessly.
