Beautifully reproduced from Jane's intricate Biro drawing ‘Yin and Yang'. This is the first design of her ‘South China Tiger' triptych. Part of her iconic print and china collection ‘In Homage to the Last Great Carnivores of Eurasia', this body of work highlights threatened carnivores across the Eurasian continent. ‘Yin and Yang' portrays the first part of 'The Legend of the Last South China Tiger', a tale written by Jane to symbolise the plight of the South China tiger, thought to be extinct in the wild. The artwork for her story is inspired by the old Chinese legend the 'Butterfly Lovers'. Jane's meticulous drawings take several months to research and make. Sumptuous signed and numbered limited edition archival pigment print, made by one of the very best printmakers in the industry. Original Biro drawing by Jane Lee Mc. Cracken. Edition: 50. Paper:Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm. Permanent for greater than 250 years under normal glass. 275 years displayed behind UV glass before noticeable fading and/or changes in colour balance occur. Print is signed and numbered by Jane. Print is sold unframed.
This piece is a striking choice for modern and eclectic interiors thanks to its bold monochrome palette and dynamic imagery. I love how the contrast between black and white adds visual impact without overwhelming the space. It works particularly well in minimalist rooms, urban-style apartments, or as a statement piece in a gallery wall. To style it effectively, consider pairing with simple, clean-lined furniture and a few accent colours in textiles or accessories for a balanced look. Additionally, framing it in a sleek black or white frame can help integrate it seamlessly into various decor schemes, making it a versatile and eye-catching addition.
